FAQs for Greek Life
What is CaseEMS?
CaseEMS is a student-run on campus emergency medical services (EMS) first responder program.
What services does CaseEMS provide?
CaseEMS provides medical coverage for the entire Case Campus. Our hours of operation are 7pm-9am Monday through Friday and 24 hour service on the weekends. We also provide EMS standby for large-scale events such as Springfest and Convocation. Groups can also solicit our services for their events should they deem it necessary, for a fee (See Event Staffing).
Will you provide coverage to Southside Residential Village?
Yes we do!. As of September 2007, we have a vehicle that allows us to serve the Southside Residential Village, as well as the entire Case campus.
What should I do in the event of a medical emergency?
You should call Protective Services at x3333 and tell them the medical emergency occurring. They will dispatch both CaseEMS and Cleveland EMS to your Greek House or living area.
So how do our current emergency procedures change?
They don't! You do exactly what you have always done; call Protective Services at x3333. Just be aware that in addition to Protective Services officers arriving, you should also expect the arrival of student EMTs.
If CaseEMS is dispatched, how many people should I expect to come?
For every call that CaseEMS is dispatched for, a total of three student EMTs will respond and provide emergency medical care to your injured brother or sister.
Will CaseEMS share any medical information that I provide to them?
Definitely not! We are bound by the same HIPAA laws as doctors, hospitals, and other medical establishments. All information will be kept in the strictest of confidence and only shared with other medical providers directly involved in providing care to you.
Where does CaseEMS respond from?
CaseEMS maintains an office in Raymond 104. It is from this office that our crews will respond to your location.
